In January-September 2020, the average number of employees was 54.1 thousand people, on average there were 30 people per organization.

The turnover amounted to 152.3 billion rubles, including the enterprises of wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles accounted for 35.7% of the total turnover of small enterprises.

Prices. Consumer market

In December 2020, fruits and vegetables rose in price by 9.8%, including fresh cucumbers – by 49.5%, tomatoes – by 18.4%, potatoes – 13.6%, carrots – by 11.7%, beets – by 7.7%, while oranges fell in price by 5.8%.

The growth in prices was observed for eggs – by 9.4%, salmon caviar – by 7.2%, condensed milk – by 3.5%, chickens – by 3.4%, pasta made from wheat flour – by 2.8%, sour cream – by 2.5%, gingerbread – by 2.4%, frozen fish, buckwheat, domestic champagne – by 2.3%. A decrease in prices was noted for salt – by 4.0%, frozen cut fish – by 2.3%, marshmallow, marshmallow, rice – by 2.0%, biscuits - 1.3%, granulated sugar, butter – by 1,one%.

The cost of the minimum set of food products in December 2020 prices was 5072.86 rubles per month, which is 2.0% higher than in November 2020.

Among non-food products, tools and equipment rose in price by 2.4%, lumber – by 2.1%, bed linen – by 2.0%, detergents – by 1.6%, haberdashery, paper and white goods – by 1, 4%, a decrease in prices was observed for shoes – 0.7%.

From household appliances and electronics, batteries became more expensive by 2.2%, household stoves, vacuum cleaners – by 2.0%, refrigerators – by 1.4%, while electric kettles became cheaper by 2.6%, mixers, blenders – by 2, 0%.

In the group of medicines and medical goods, mercury thermometers rose in price by 4.9%, levomekol – by 3.4%, linex, domestic multivitamins – by 3.1%, corvalol – by 2.9%, ambroxol, fluocinolone acetonide, ointment – by 1.8%, suprastin, nimesulide – 1.6%.

In December this year, prices for motor gasoline increased by an average of 0.1%. At gas stations, where changes in consumer prices are monitored, the cost of one liter of gasoline was within the following limits: AI-92 brand – from 42.65 to 44.41 rubles, AI-95 brand – from 45.80 to 48.86, brand AI-98 - from 54.10 to 55.49 rubles.

In December 2020, the cost of travel on long-distance trains increased by 18.6%, air travel – by 12.1%, animal vaccinations – by 3.6%, consumer loan fees increased by 2.7%, medical services – by 2.6%, while the cost of cellular services decreased by 5.4%.

Retail trade turnover in January-December 2020 amounted to 480.6 billion rubles, which in comparable prices is 6.5% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year, in December 2020, respectively, 45.8 billion rubles (by 10, 2% more).

In the structure of retail trade turnover, the share of retail trade in food products, beverages and tobacco products in January-December 2020 amounted to 46%, non-food products – 54%, which corresponds to the level of the previous year.

Public catering turnover in January-December 2020 amounted to 13.5 billion rubles, or 70.6% by 2019.

The volume of paid services rendered to the population in the Leningrad Region in January-December 2020 amounted to 79.1 billion rubles and in comparable prices decreased compared to January-December 2019 by 7.4%.

The main place in the structure of paid services consumed by the population is occupied by:

• housing and communal services - 57.6%
• transport - 10.4%
• household - 7.4%
• education systems - 4.3%
• medical services - 6.9%
• telecommunications - 3.7%

Of the total volume of paid services, 11.0% were provided by individuals.

In January-December 2020, the population of the region was provided with personal services in the amount of 5856.0 million rubles, or 84.5% against the level of January-December 2019 (of which 41.8% were provided by individuals). In the total volume of personal services, the largest share falls on the repair and construction of housing and other buildings – 24.4%, maintenance and repair of vehicles, machinery and equipment – 19.6%, ritual services – 14.0%.
